In 1540, Francisco Vasquez de Coronado led an expedition starting at Mexico and ending around southwestern United States with a some other explorers. The explorers didn’t find what they were looking, which is treasure, but they did manage to discover the Grand Canyon and a couple other major landmarks. On the way back to Mexico the explorers got in a fight with some Indians and luckily got away.
