Another normal day,
Today was just another normal day as a glass maker in the colonial times. Blending up sand and some other chemicals into a crucible, or a pot. Then melting the soon to be glass into a blazing hot fire. Next, pushing a pipe into the liquid glass and blowing through the pipe to make a glass bubble. Using tools, slowly shape the glass into what you want. Not happy with the shape, reheat it and do it again! Living in New Jersey it’s normal to be a glass maker, because the first glass factory was here in 1739. Now being a glass maker is hard, but being the one to blow on the pipe is VERY hard! It takes a lot of lung power. There is a good thing for being one of them though. They only work six to nine months a year just to rest their heart. Still though, I’m happy I’m not one of those guys. Like I said before, just another normal day, slow, even, steady.
